Here is a selection of testimonials from my students…..More to come!

“Charlotte’s lessons are great fun and extremely enjoyable. She has done the one thing no one else has ever done for me – given me confidence to do French. Also, she doesn’t just focus on one area but all of them. we do listening exercises which involve listening to a French conversation and translating it. We do comprehensions to improve reading and pronunciation. We also learn vocab and grammar which is then used in other exercises and fun but challenging homework. Furthermore, Charlotte tailors the lesson to my ability and understanding each time. If I am struggling she will go back to basics and help me understand, or if I am confident she will raise the bar and increase the difficulty. But again, the one thing she did for me was give me the confidence and ability to do all of this and helped me improve my test results from 48% to 91.5%! Merci Charlotte, tu es magnifique!” (Ffinlo, aged 13 – UPDATE -now 16 and recently achieved A* in iGCSE French)

“Our 12 year old daughter has been having an hour a week with Charlotte and it has really paid dividends, the lessons are informal and importantly fun and our daughter looks forward to them, We cannot praise Charlotte enough for the help she has given and continues to give, Always punctual & reliable we recommend her services to any parents wanting to ensure their children have the best possible help they can get in learning French”. (Alice’s dad – UPDATE – Alice, now 16, recently achieved A in GCSE French )

“Charlotte is a brilliant French tutor who is not only a great teacher but somebody who is also patient and understanding. Charlotte helped me with the skills I needed to get great grades in my French GCSE but also helped me to build confidence in the subject and in my own ability. Thank you for all the effort you put into every lesson.”. (Mary, achieved A in GCSE French)

“Our son had struggled badly in the first year of secondary school, ending up bottom of the lowest set at the end of the year.  We asked Charlotte if she could help him and started a weekly lesson in the summer holidays. He enjoyed the lessons and was quite happy to go to Charlotte and has steadily improved with very respectable marks. He has just started the fourth year and is in the top set, of three, in French, and is talking about achieving a top GCSE mark!” (Wilfy’s mum)

“I’ve been taking lessons with Charlotte for over a year now. Overall I’ve largely increased my ability to read, write and speak French from the small amount I could remember from school. I’d recommend Charlotte to anybody on the Island wanting to pick up French either from scratch or to re-touch up any previous skills. Having a French Girlfriend, I decided that I should probably learn how to converse in her native language, and although I’ve always been rubbish at picking up new languages; I can now hold my own in a conversation or write a letter/email etc if needed. Charlotte is very friendly, knowledgeable and patient (which is needed when teaching me!). Dix sur dix et merci beaucoup!” (Tom)

“I started with Charlotte in 2014 having left French behind at school some 20 years ago. A frequent visitor to the country, I was embarrassed with my inability to speak the language and so a friend recommended Charlotte as the best person to help me. Over the last two years Charlotte has managed to bring my French to a standard where I feel ‘holiday competent’ from both a reading and conversational perspective. Merci beaucoup professeur!” (Vicki)

“My two sons (aged 8 and 13 years) and myself have French lessons with Charlotte. It is fun learning that is geared towards our requirements. It takes place in relaxed surroundings so it is not like sitting in a classroom. We improve each week which shows the benefits of a more personal approach. I would recommend giving it a go, the boys have the edge at school now and it adds an extra dimension to your life.” (Michael, aged 50. UPDATE – Joseph recently achieved B in GCSE French and continued to AS level)

“Charlotte we cannot thank you enough for the huge progress our little Lola (aged 5) made with her English learning with you. She really looked forward to your classes which she considered ‘fun learning’. You have amazing patience ! And despite you being a Northener it is such a relief that she calls supper supper and dinner dinner and not ‘tea'”. (Lola’s dad)

“Both my daughter who is 10 and myself had lessons with Charlotte over the summer period and we thoroughly enjoyed them.  We both found them fun yet informative and we both learnt a lot in the short time we spent with Charlotte.  She is very easy to get along with and was able to change the way she taught to work with both myself and a 10 year old.  I would recommend Charlotte to anybody looking to learn French either as a beginner like me or to improve your skills as my daughter needed”. Helen (a 39 year old who does not learn languages very well at all!!).” (Helen, aged 39)

“Not being a natural linguist I have made several attempts at learning to  speak French, including night classes, CD’s and one to one tuition with variable  levels of success.
I found the most successful of all these was the one to one tuition I  received from Charlotte, whose  clear, patient and well structured approach  made  learning a pleasure rather than a chore. Though by no means fluent, I am much more confident  now”. (Hilary)
